The Uruguayan government is still not addressing the need of small farmers and rural workers to have access to land, according to what José González from the Association of Small Farmers and Rural Workers of Bella Unión (APAARBU) said to Real World Radio.
He believes that in addition to the fields the National Institute of Colonization provides, these should come with other advantages for the unprotected workers, for instance, machinery, credits in State banks and permanent training by State organizations.
This statement was obtained during the activities in preparation for the People´s Congress which will take place in August. Last week, the congress delegation went to the northern city Bella Unión.
