The Peoples’ Permanent Tribunal (PPT) opened today in Peru’s capital, Lima. One of the cases filed before the tribunal is the accusation filed against salmon transnational corporation Marine Harvest by the center Ecocéanos and the trade union Eicosal of Chile. The company, which in that country operates under the name Marine Harvest Chile S.A., is in the crosshairs over the systematic pollution of water ecosystems and over the repeated violation of the environmental and labor laws in Los Lagos and Aysen regions, in Chile.
