Over 20 European corporations will be tried in Lima, on May 13th and 14th, during the second session on European Transnational Corporations in Latin America and Neoliberal Policies of the Peoples’ Permanent Tribunal (PPT), over human rights violations in Latin America.
This session of the Peoples’ Permanent Tribunal takes place within Linking Alternatives 3, the Peoples’ Summit called by the Biregional Network Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean “Linking Alternatives”, in parallel to the 5th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the European Union – Latin America and the Caribbean (UE-LAC). The EU aims to move forward in the negotiations of free trade bilateral agreements with the different Latin American regions (Central America, Andean Community of Nations and MERCOSUR) and in that way, to secure new markets for the European corporations.
